LIBRARY MEDIA INSTRUCTOR

Caitlin Kelly

Hello there!

My name is Mrs. Caitlin Kelly and I am elated to be your Library Media Instructor here at Natomas Charter School. Though I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design with an Architectural Concentration, I found my true calling here as your Library Media Instructor. Since joining the NCS team in 2016, I have continued my educational journey by completing course requirements to earn an Instructional Media Resource Associate as well as a CTE Teaching Credential, with multiple authorizations.

Some interesting facts about me include that I have lived in Alaska, Texas, Arizona, and five different cities in California. I love animals, specifically cats! My husband and I have two cats, Winston and Luna. I enjoy reading, watching movies, and spending time with my husband. I am an alumni of Natomas Charter School, Performing and Fine Arts Academy. When I attended PFAA my artistic focus was that of drawing, painting, and manual photography (all of which I still do on occasion).

My favorite books include Inferno by Dante Alighieri, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. I also really enjoy reading graphic novels and comic books, like Watchmen by Alan Moore and Maus by Art Spiegelman.

I truly love making this library an affirming space for students to research, relax, read, and recharge. I look forward to assisting you in the LMC!

Jasmine Crabtree

Hello!

My name is Jasmine Crabtree, and I am the Library Media Technician at Natomas Charter School. I have a degree in English Literature, and am working on my degree in Library Technology. I truly love working in a library and building relationships with students. Libraries should be an accepting, safe place for everybody, and I strive to make our library here be that place for every student.

I haven’t always worked in education, I actually worked as a veterinary technician for 13 years, and am a certified dog trainer and wildlife rehabilitator! I’ve done everything from assisting the Dept. of Fish and Game in trapping and tagging mountain lions, and once spent a week washing seabirds after an oil spill. Animals and books are a solid tie for my favorite things in the world.

I’m also a fiber artist, and knit, crochet, sew, and needle felt. My crocheted creations can be found all over the library, and I’m usually wearing a handmade piece of clothing.

I look forward to helping you with your library needs, so come by the library and say hello!

LIBRARY MEDIA INSTRUCTOR (STAR ACADEMY)

School portrait of Chris StrazzoChris Strazzo

Hi, I’m Chris Strazzo. I grew up an hour outside of Sacramento in Pine Grove. I went to American River and then transferred to UC Davis. There, I got my Bachelor’s Degree in English and then my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. While getting my teaching credential, I met my lovely wife Mrs. Strazzo.

This is my sixth year here in the library at Star Academy and I love it! I enjoy helping students discover a love of reading and finding answers to whatever questions they might have. I am a lifelong learner who enjoys picking up new skills and hobbies as I find them.

At home I enjoy dabbling in crafting, creating with Lego, and the occasional video game.
