Summer Programs

For a HUGE array of summer programs from around the country log in to your Naviance account and then go to the "colleges" tab.  Under that you will see a link for "enrichment" programs.  You can search there by location, interest (ie, arts, science, journalism, etc).  

Here are some great summer programs:



Chicano/Latino Youth Leadership Program at Sac State 

Academic Talent Search at Sac State (various summer dates) open to 4th-9th graders

University of the Pacific Summer Music Camp (at UoP in Stockton)

Project Incubator- design and creativity

Stanford Splash- two day program where students are taught by undergraduates

California Summer School for Arts- students from all over state study an art form for 4 weeks at Cal Arts in Valencia (near LA)

California Summer School for Math and Science (COSMOS)- is an intensive four-week summer residential program for students who have demonstrated an aptitude for academic and professional careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects. Joffrey Ballet Summer Program--local auditions Feb 25 and 26 at Hawkins Studio in Folsom. 5 different dance styles, 1-6 week sessions.

UCLA Anderson School- program for high school students interested in business, product development, advertising, marketing



Carnegie Mellon Pre-College Programs- Pre-College program providing learning and development opportunities for high school students both inside and outside of the classroom.

Princeton Summer Journalism Program- 10 day seminar on journalism for low-income students

Boston University- many different programs available

NYU-Tisch School of the Arts- 4 week program in the arts, some need based-scholarships available

Yale Young Global Scholars -empowers the next generation of leaders by building a global community 

Duke Summer College- in North Carolina, students take on one intensive Duke University undergraduate course for which they receive academic credit recorded on an official Duke University transcript.
