Welcome to Student Services

The division of Student Services at Natomas Charter School is dedicated to providing high quality student-centered services to help all students experience academic success and reach their future goals. We offer support to NCS students, teachers, and parents in the areas of Library Media Services, Counseling and Special Education.

Counseling Services are provided in the following domains:

  • School Counseling and College Preparation
  • Career Exploration and Experiential Learning
  • Personal, Emotional, and Social Development

Mission Statement

This mission of Natomas Charter School Department of Student Services is to promote the academic, social/emotional, and career success of students by providing high quality, developmentally appropriate services.  We collaborate with staff, parents, students, and community members to develop a safe and supportive educational environment where each student works to their fullest potential and is prepared to establish and achieve postsecondary goals.


All activities provided by the Student Services department at Natomas Charter School center on one of three core skills:

  • Self-Awareness/Sense of Purpose

    • Understand one’s own skills, abilities, and interests

    • Recognize and acceptance of one’s own strengths, feelings, motives and desires

    • Expand self-advocacy and to drive post high school education and goals

  • Problem Solving/Decision Making

    • Develop empathy through active listening to be able to understand the viewpoint of others

    • Establish a growth mindset perspective

    • Draw on multiple sources of information to creatively and ethically solve challenges

  • Engaging with the Community

    • Develop sense of ownership and responsibility to the NCS community

    • Understand personal role in contributing to the larger community (local, national, and international)

    • Enhance awareness and appreciation for other cultures/ethnicities, family structures, values, and identities

- If this is the weekend or during break you can reach out to Wellspace at 916.368.3111 (24 hours/day), the Crisis Text Line at 741741 (24 hours/day), The Trevor Project at 1-866-488-7386, or The Teen Line (6-10 pm) at 1-800-852-8336.

-If this is not a life threatening emergency please complete the Social Emotional Counselor Request Form. Counselors are available 8am - 4pm Monday through Friday.

REMEMBER: Talk to your parents, email a favorite teacher, counselor or academy coordinator — your well-being is our top priority.

TEACHERS/STAFF: - If you are concerned about a student's social emotional well-being, please fill out the Social Emotional Counselor Request Form.

- If you believe that a student is at risk of committing suicide, immediately contact your Academy Coordinator and Student Services Director.

PARENTS: - If this is an emergency, especially if your student is expressing suicidal ideation, call 911 or take your child to the nearest Emergency Room or Mental Health Urgent Care.

- If you are concerned about your child's social emotional well-being and would like additional resources, please complete the Social Emotional Counselor Request Form

- If your child is experiencing suicidal ideation call your pediatrician. Resources can also be found on the Natomas Charter School Student Services page.



-24/7/365 short-term crisis intervention mental health program supporting individuals under the age of 26 and their caregivers in Sacramento county via call, chat, text and in person (in person support is limited due to COVID) with the ultimate goal of linking individuals to long-term mental health services and community resource.



Student Services Event Calendar

The Natomas Charter School shall be nonsectarian in its programs, admissions policies, employment practices and all other operations, shall not charge tuition, and shall not discriminate against any pupil on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender or disability.
