Non-Discrimination Statement
It is the policy and commitment of Natomas Charter School and its Board of Directors (collectively known as NCS) that it allows equal access and opportunities to all of the school's academic and other educational support programs, services, and activities. NCS prohibits discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying on the basis of race, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, national origin, ethnicity, ethnic group identification, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, religion, or on the basis of a person’s association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.
This policy shall apply to all acts related to school activity or to school attendance occurring within a school premises, and to acts which occur off campus or outside of school-related or school-sponsored activities but which may have an impact or create a hostile environment at school.
NCS also prohibits any form of retaliation against any individual who reports or participates in the reporting of unlawful discrimination, files or participates in the filing of a complaint, or investigates or participates in the investigation of a complaint or report alleging unlawful discrimination. Retaliation complaints shall be investigated and resolved in the same manner as a discrimination complaint.

NCS is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate in the terms, conditions, or privileges of employment on account of race, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, national origin, ethnicity, ethnic group identification, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, religion or otherwise as may be prohibited by federal and state law.
Any employee, board member, volunteer or client who believes that s/he or any other affiliate of NCS has been discriminated against is strongly encouraged to report this concern promptly to the Executive Director. NCS shall protect any employee who reports such incidents from retaliation.
The Executive Director or designee shall use all appropriate means to reinforce the school's nondiscrimination policy. He/she shall provide training and information to employees about how to recognize harassment, discrimination, or other related conduct, how to respond appropriately, and components of the school's policies and regulations regarding discrimination. The Executive Director or designee shall regularly review the school's employment practices and, as necessary, shall take action to ensure school compliance with the nondiscrimination laws.
In addition, the Superintendent or designee shall post, in a conspicuous place on school premises, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing publication on workplace discrimination and harassment issued pursuant to 2 CCR 11013.
