Work/Entertainment Permits
Work/Entertainment Permit Requirements:
All individuals under the age of 18 who wish to be employed in the state of California must obtain a work/entertainment permit. This permit verifies the minor's age for the employer and enables the employer to comply with State and Federal Labor Laws. Natomas Charter School will grant permits for students as long as they comply with the following rules:
- Maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 with no D’s or F’s in any subject.
- Maintain a record of consistent school attendance.
- Maintain a good discipline record.
- For ECA students, students must meet ECA Master Agreement requirements.
If a student fails to comply with any of the above rules, their permit may be rescinded and their employer will be notified.
If a student improves their academic performance, the permit may be reinstated. Students on Academic Watch at the end of a semester must have a Student Success Team (SST) meeting prior to obtaining a permit for summer and winter breaks.
Please allow up to 5 business days after you turn in the completed Work/Entertainment Permit Application for completion. You may not begin to work until you provide the completed Work/Entertainment Permit to the employer.
