FAFSA- Cash for College Workshops

All students who wish to apply for state or federal financial aid for next year need to file a FAFSA (free application for federal student aid). The application as noted is free and all are encouraged to apply.


CSAC (the California Student Aid Commission) sponsors various "cash for colleges" workshops throughout the region to assist students and families in filling out the form.  To find a workshop near you, please visit their website at Cash for College.

    The 2019 WTS scholarships applications are now open! Don’t pass up this great opportunity to receive scholarship money to help pursue a career in transportation. Get your applications in by November 15. 

    The Sacramento Chapter of WTS offers scholarships for women pursuing a career in transportation-related fields. This includes a very versatile subset of fields, such as transportation engineering, planning, logistics, policy, ecology, geology, and more.  Selected finalists will receive an award from WTS Sacramento, and their applications will be forwarded to WTS International to compete for additional award.

    Application Requirements

    • Minimum GPA of 3.0
    • Unofficial copy of transcripts
    • 500-word personal statement regarding career goals after graduation
    • Permanent residence or attending college or university within WTS Sacramento’s jurisdiction. See our website for clarification.
    • Graduation date after February 2020

    • Applicant must submit one (1) letter of recommendation by a teacher, counselor, or principal


  •'s- Due November 30th. The $1000 award is meant to aid students in California and across the nation in financing their education.


  • New York Life Award- Due December 1, 2019. Sponsored by the New York Life Foundation, provides six students whose works explore personal grief, loss, and bereavement with $1,000 scholarships. This year, we are excited to offer additional state scholarships of $500 to two students from each of the following states: Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, and New Mexico. All students in grades 7-12 (ages 13 and up) are eligible to participate.


  • Students of African Descent -The Sacramento Links scholarship has opened for this year.  Last year, NCS students won 2 of the scholarships awarded and we should continue the trend!  Please look at the application and see what you would need to apply.  Due January 26th
  • Golden1 Scholarship Students can receive up to $5000 a year for all four years. Due January 31st
  • Alert1 Student for Seniors ScholarshipAlert1 is offering a $500 scholarship to a high school or college student attending an accredited U.S. college or university in 2020. Due January 10th, 2020 11:59 PM PST.




  • Active 20-30 Club of Sacramento- for women who have done community service. Due March 1st 
  • Tri Counties Bank Community Scholarship ProgramThrough a partnership with Shasta Regional Community Foundation, Tri Counties Bank is committed to providing meaningful college scholarships to deserving low and moderate-income students in the Bank’s footprint, as well as to other students in the communities we serve. Application Cycle Closed for 2019. The application cycle for 2020 will open on November 1, 2019 and close on March 11, 2020.
  • Sacramento County's Department of Human Assistant- Applicant must be on public assistance or be low income. Must be currently living in Sacramento, a graduating high school senior in 2019, and will be going into a two-year or four-year accredited college, university, or technical/trade school. Must have minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5. Application must be post marked by Friday, March 15, 2019 The following chart is the income limits for the Scholarship program.
  • Generation Google Scholarship- for students majoring in computer science or related field. Due March 2nd
  • SAFE Credit Union- Applicant must be a college-bound, graduating senior from a high school in one of the following counties: Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, Yuba, Sutter, Alameda, Amador, Butte, Contra Costa, Nevada, San Joaquin, Solano, or El Dorado. High school GPA must be 3.0 or above.- Due Friday, March 20, 2020.
  • Sacramento Department of Human Assistance- must be low income, waiting for new app to come online
  • SAFE Credit Union- must have financial need and 3.0. GPA. 10 $1000 scholarships awarded. Due March 12th
  • Tri County Banks Scholarship Program- scholarships of up to $1,500 each to students attending
    a 4-year college and up to $1,000 for those attending community college. Due March 13th
  • Sacramento Masters Singer Scholarship- The application video is Due March 23rd
  • Physicians for Social Responsibility- essay of 500 words or less, prizes range from $1000-$3500, Due March 24th
  • 2019 Cathay Bank Scholarship Program- Grants students 20 - $1,000 in scholarship awards for high school seniors planning to attend college as a full-time, degree-seeking student in Fall of 2019. Due March 27th
  • Asian Pacific Community Fund- 2019 Cathay Bank Scholarship Program-Grants students 20 - $1,000 in scholarship awards for high school seniors planning to attend college as a full-time, degree-seeking student in Fall of 2019.  Plan to attend a U.S. Accredited 4-Year College/ University or a Community College in the state of California, Washington, Illinois, Nevada, Maryland, Massachusetts, Texas, New York, and New Jersey as a 1st  year student in the Fall of 2019 (if selected, must submit college acceptance letter for verification). Must have a minimum cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.0. Household income at or below the Low Income Level. Due March 27th
  • Asian Pacific Community Fund-2019 Taiwanese American Scholarship Fund-Grants 10 - $5,000 scholarship awards to students of Taiwanese descent planning to attend a university/college in the U.S. in Fall of 2019.  Plan to attend a University or College as a 1st or 2nd year full-time student. GPA 3.0. Due March 27th
  • Italian Catholic Federation- must be Roman Catholic and GPA of 3.2. See specific details about qualified applicants on website.  Due March 15th
  • California Association of Collectors- must write essay on good financial credit.  waiting for new app to come out
  • Sacramento Community Regional Foundation- lots of different scholarships with multiple criteria- Due March 9th
  • Natomas Chamber of Commerce- 3.7 GPA, 50 hrs community service- only hard copies- waiting for new app 
  • Sacramento Region Community Foundation- Annual scholarship awards range from $500 to $7,000 and may be used for tuition, fees, and educational expenses at accredited academic colleges or universities and vocational training programs. Due March 8th
  • Schwab-Rosenhouse Memorial Scholarship- Apply for renewable scholarships worth up to $5,000 per academic year. Due February 7th

Must reside or attend school in Sacramento County or the cities of Granite Bay, Lincoln, Rocklin, Roseville, Davis, or West Sacramento. Due March 16th
  • 2019 Royal Business Bank Scholarship- Grants students 25 - $1,000 in scholarship awards for high school seniors planning to attend college as a full-time, degree-seeking student in Fall of 2019.  Have a minimum cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.0. Due March 27th
  • 2019 Mega Bank Scholarship ProgramGrants students 10 - $1,000 in scholarship awards for high school seniors planning to attend college as a full-time, degree-seeking student in Fall of 2019. Due March 27th
  • Davis Musical Theater Company 2019 Theater Arts AwardFor graduating high school seniors. Two $500 rewards will be granted to two qualifying applicants. Must be emailed or postmarked by March 31st

  • Natomas Schools Foundation Scholarship- The Natomas Schools Foundation will accept applications through April 12, 2019 for scholarships to help defray expenses at an accredited four-year college, two-year college, or trade school.Multiple winners will be chosen for awards of $1,000 and $500. Applications are available here. Applicants must be high school seniors, have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher and have served 50 hours or more during the past two years in one or more of these three categories:

           ·  Formal employment

           ·  Volunteer or community service

           ·  Service to school through a formal club or organization

Candidates also must write a short essay of 300 to 500 words describing what they learned from volunteer or employment experiences, and how those lessons might help them in the future.

Over the past two years, Natomas Schools Foundation has awarded $16,000 in college scholarships to deserving students.

Decisions in this year’s scholarship program will be announced at school Senior Awards Nights.


  • Natomas Arts and Education Foundation (NAEF) Scholarship- NAEF is now offering three scholarships, awarded annually. Two for NCS graduating Seniors and one for any graduating Senior in the Sacramento Region. $500.00 for each recipient. Scholarship money is intended for school expenses. Due April 29th, 2019, 5:00PM
  • NAEHCY ScholarshipWe are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2019 NAEHCY Scholarship. See below for the full list of dates, and check our website for full details and the link for the online application.
