Tech Task Force

IMG_8548.jpgAre you interested in digital arts or programming and robotics? Are you passionate about students and teachers using technology for meaningful learning? Do you have a knack for understanding how technology and instruction are linked together? Then join the NCS Technology Task Force!

Background

The Natomas Charter School Technology Task Force is a group of parents, students, teachers, and administrators that guides the course of technology integration for all five academies through the development and implementation of a school-wide technology plan.

We are currently in the process of  reconvening the Technology Task Force for the 2015-2016 school year.  Three years ago the Technology Task Force created our first state-approved three-year technology plan. Our current plan expires in June 2016, so this year the Tech Task Force will focus on creating a new 2016-2019 technology plan.

A technology plan has five main components, so this year the Tech Task Force members will engage in numerous conversations around these areas. These sections also provide a sense of the type of information we will need to collect and analyze.

Plan Background - Who are we as a school and how have we historically used technology? Looking ahead, what is our overarching vision for using technology as an instructional tool?

Curriculum & Instruction - What specific curriculum or instructional goals are we trying to accomplish through the use of technology and digital learning tools? How will technology be used to help students master curriculum standards, such at Common Core or Next Generation Science Standards?

Professional Development - What is the current level of technology proficiency for teachers and administrators? What professional development support do these individuals need to accomplish the curriculum and instruction goals?

Hardware & Infrastructure - What digital hardware does the school currently possess? What additional hardware or services will need to be purchased?

Monitoring & Evaluation - How will we track progress towards meeting our goals? What level should we achieve each year?

Dates & Details

The Technology Task Force will meet on the following dates from 4:30-6:00pm. Each of the meetings will be an opportunity for the committee members to collaboratively construct our 2016-2019 Technology Plan.
