Mrs. Igel

1. How long have you been working at ILP?

This is my 5th year at ILP.

2. What is your favorite part of working at ILP?

I love to see the smiles on students faces when they succeed. It is also great to see the growth in students as they learn to manage their time and take responsibility for getting their work done, getting to their meetings and workshops on time.

3. When you are not teaching, what do you like to do?

I have been a shutterbug since I was in high school. My family teases me about my camera being permanently attached! I also love to scrapbook so I have a place to tell the stories that go along with the pictures. I hold scrapbooking workshops at least once a month, and also enjoy stamping, card-making, calligraphy and occasional sewing and needlework.

4. What do you think is the most important part about school in general?

Taking the knowledge and skills that you acquire and applying them to your everyday life.

5. What were your favorite classes when you were in high school?

I enjoyed World Geography, History and Geometry.

6. Where are your favorite places that you have been?

Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Hawaii and Disney's private island, Castaway Cay.

7. Just for something funny...what is your favorite cartoon?

I haven't watched cartoons for a very long time, but a couple that I remember watching with my daughter when she was little are Disney's Ducktales and Talespins.

8. Is there any advice you want to give to kids who are entering the ILP Program for the first time?

1. Ask questions or ask for help when you don't understand something.
2. Do a little homework everyday- don't put it off until the last minute.
3. Strive to complete 100% of your work every week and do it well. If you don't, you are only shortchanging yourself.

9. Is there anything else that you would like to say?

Yes, I just want to say thank you to Mr. Del Monte and the Advanced Web Design class for doing a wonderful job in developing our Web site.
