About Natomas Charter School

Natomas Charter School is made up of five diverse and unique academies. Each academy program acts as a "school within a school," offering a distinctive instructional delivery system.

WHich Academy is right for my Student?

Before beginning the application, please take a moment to decide which academy is right for your student. Here on the Academy Overview page you will find a quick overview of each Academy, and more detailed information on each academy’s website.

If you wish to apply for multiple academies, you must fill out a separate application for each academy.

Application Lottery

Natomas Charter School regularly receives more applications than available spots, so a lottery is required by law. In order to be placed in the lottery for the 2019-2020 school year, you must complete the online application and all additional requirements listed on the application. For information about the application and lottery , click here.

Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten  eligibility

State law requires that incoming Kindergarten students are 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2019. Students turning 5 between September 2, 2019 and December 2, 2019 are welcome to apply for our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program. We will not accept Kindergarten or TK applications for students who do not meet this age requirement.

Transitional Kindergarten offers a developmentally appropriate, hands-on approach as part of a two year Kindergarten program. Many of your TK and Kindergarten questions may be answered by visiting the California Department of Education's Transitional Kindergarten FAQ page.

If you are interested in applying for both Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten, you will need to complete two applications - one for each grade level.
