 Dr. Addie L.Ellis has been with Natomas Charter School since April, 2017. Prior to joining Natomas Charter School, Dr. Ellis was a an Executive Director of an organization that advocates for permanency for youth in the foster care system.   Her career long interest in supporting students in achieving a high quality education in a supportive environment has provided the basis for her work at Natomas Charter School.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Riverside, a Master of Science degree from National University, a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from Drexel University, and Pupil Personnel Services Credential and Administrative credentials from Chapman University.  At NCS, Addie's areas of focus are:

  • Developing and maintaining a positive school culture, including school safety, mentor programs and student discipline
  • Supervision of NCS special education programs
  • Support and supervision of NCS counseling staff

Suzanna Shenk-Tiffany

Suzanna has been with Natomas Charter School since 2012.  Before joining the staff she was a counselor at high schools in nearby Woodland, California, Texas, San Diego and Los Angeles.  Her positive experience as counselor at the Los Angeles High School for the Arts led her to seek out another performing arts academy.  Prior to becoming a counselor she was a Spanish teacher in Malibu and still enjoys speaking and studying Spanish when possible.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pepperdine University and Master of Science degree from San Diego State University.  At NCS Suzanna's areas of focus are:

  • Academic Counselor (for Performing Arts Academy and Virtual Learning Academy)
  • College Planning and Advising
  • Career Planning and Advising

Melinda Curtis

Melinda has been working in Sacramento schools for the past 15 years providing counseling services to students and families.  In addition, she brings experience from community agencies with adolescents, pediatric patients and their families at UC Davis Children’s Hospital and Shriners, as well as private practice in the greater Sacramento community.  Melinda received her BA in Psychology and Child Development with a Minor in Family Relations, her MS at Sacramento State in Marriage & Family Therapy and School Counseling, and received her MFT license in 2010.  At NCS, a few of Melinda’s focuses include:

  • Group and Individual counseling

  • Mental Health education for students and parents (Awareness & Prevention week’s, parent meetings & workshops)

  • Mentor for Senior Project Students

Caroline Hines

Prior to joining NCS in August of 2013, Caroline worked in the mental health field, serving children and adolescents with significant mental health needs and disabilities. Her past experience includes providing school counseling services to children in San Juan Unified and Sacramento City Unified School Districts. She was also a substitute teacher the in Davis Joint Unified School District. She has a Bachelors in Sociology and Communications from Pacific Lutheran University and a Masters in Counseling from California State University, Sacramento. At NCS Caroline's focuses are: 

  • Supporting Students, Teachers, and Parents
  • Providing Groups and Individual Counseling
  • Community Resources and Referrals 
  • Mentoring and Classroom Support
  • Coordinating School-Wide Activities and Social-Emotional Learning for Students and Parents
  • Providing Support to Special Education and Attending SST/IEP Meetings

Jason Molay

Prior to joining NCS in November of 2014, Jason worked in higher education in several different capacities including residential life, academic advising, career counseling, and student activities. He has worked at Southern Oregon University, The University of Illinois, and Sacramento State. He has a Bachelors in Communication from Southern Oregon University and a Masters in Education from the University of Illinois. At NCS Jason focuses are on 

  • Link Crew Advisor (High school student mentor program)
  • College Advising (Research, college fairs, applications, letters of recommendation, etc.)
  • Apprenticeship Program (Internships, Job Shadows, and Volunteer opportunities)
  • High School Academic Counseling

Danielle Belcastro-Bisbikis

Danielle has worked in schools since 2009 providing counseling services to students and families.  In addition, she brings experience from working as a college academic advisor for 2 years at National University and prior to that she worked as an instructional aide for Juvenile Court and Community Schools in San Diego and Riverside county for several years.  Danielle received her BA in Social Sciences with an emphasis in single subject teaching from San Diego State, her MA at National University in Counseling Psychology, and received her MFT license in 2014.  At NCS, a few of Danielle’s focuses include:

  • Group and Individual counseling

  • Mental Health education for students and parents

  • Teaching social emotional workshops to PACT students

  • Providing support for teachers, parents, and students
